Dog training anchored in excellence

Anchored Canine is a central Iowa dog training business serving the Webster City area, with the promise of "no fluff dog training" and "realistic training that builds the canine and human bond." Trainer Katherine has trained dogs since she was 8 years old in 4-H and helped her mother raise purebred Wheaten Terriers. She completed the 20-week course at The Dog Trainers College, earning a Master Dog Trainer Certificate, graduating with honors and, by her account, the highest grade in the school's history. She then worked at the college as a canine instructor from 2020 to 2021.

Pet training

Anchored Canine teaches owners to train their own dogs through private lessons in obedience, companionship and protection. It works on aggression toward dogs or people, socialization for fearful dogs, leash pulling, recall and bad manners such as jumping on guests.

Working and service dogs

Katherine also specializes in police dog training for narcotics detection, apprehension and bed bug detection, and offers already-trained police and service dogs. Service dogs are trained for tasks such as diabetic and seizure alerts, calming a child with autism and interrupting PTSD panic attacks, and are raised in a home with kids.
