About Basic and Behavioral Training for Dogs
A trainer for life
Basic and Behavioral Training for Dogs is a one-trainer business built around the promise that clients get "a trainer for life", with help available whether a few hours or a few years after a session. The trainer began helping people in the early 2000s after resolving aggression in her own dog, later learning from a behaviorist how much damage harsh training can do.
Method
All sessions use positive reinforcement. The philosophy is that a well-trained dog starts with a good relationship and clear communication: training from the dog's perspective, working on the core of an issue, and teaching owners how their dog learns and how to build trust.
Sessions and prices
Group Basic Obedience runs as 4 weekly classes for $65, covering sit, stay, heel and come in a structured setting. Private sessions, tailored to the issues at hand with no time limit, are $70 for the first and $50 for the second, and suit dogs too hyper or fearful for a group.
What owners say
Nadine wrote that "Leah is very knowledgeable about dog training" and that her dog's behavior issues showed definite improvements.
