About FUSION Pet Retreat

Training center and pet retreat

FUSION Pet Retreat is a boarding, daycare, grooming and training facility at 14901 Minnetonka Industrial Road in Minnetonka, just off I-494 and Minnetonka Blvd. It was founded in 2016 by owner Mike McKinley, who rebranded and moved the business he bought in 2012. Its training center focuses on "a positive and progressive approach to dog training and behavior," with trainers who work primarily with positive reinforcement.

Classes

All classes are held in a climate-controlled 11,000-square-foot indoor facility with a separate training entrance. Offerings include agility; puppy, obedience and specialty classes; behavior and reactive dog classes; competitive sport classes; nosework; and events and seminars, plus arena rental. New puppies start with Puppy Socialization (17 weeks or under at the start of class) and adult dogs with Basic Manners. Private lessons are booked directly with individual instructors, and shy, non-social or special needs dogs have options of their own.

The team

Training Director Megan Janning, CPDT-KA, has more than a decade in animal behavior and training, and staff are trained by a certified behaviorist. Several instructors compete in agility and other dog sports.
