North Star Family K-9 (NSFK9) is a dog training company based at 1034 3rd Ave NE in Northeast Minneapolis, serving the Twin Cities. It builds behavior "from the inside out" (emotional stability, motivation, clarity, then reliability) using modern balanced training, and starts with a free phone assessment before recommending a program. In 2025 it merged with K9SF, combining two Minnesota training organizations into one team and facility.

Programs

Board & Train runs 3-6 weeks of immersive daily training for reactivity, aggression, anxiety, leash issues and impulse control, with weekly updates, videos and transfer sessions, and owners are invited to participate. The Intensive 8 Week Program of private lessons coaches owners at the facility and at home. Puppy Foundations works with puppies from 8 weeks to 6 months on socialization, neutrality, leash foundations and kennel training. Structured boarding is primarily for dogs NSFK9 has trained. Every graduate receives lifetime support.
