About LifeStyle K9

What they offer

LifeStyle K9 is an in-home dog training business based at 439 Toronto St in Fort Collins. The home page lists custom in-home programs for puppies and obedience, reactivity and fear, and aggression, plus a Reverse Board & Train program in which a trainer comes to your home for daily guided sessions. A Day Train Program sends a trainer for 60-minute sessions three times a week while you are at work, with video updates of every session and homework for evenings and weekends. Basic obedience and loose-leash walking are also offered online, and the site notes its loose-leash program is for dogs with no reactivity. Beyond training, the business runs mid-day walks and enrichment visits with scent work, agility basics and nail-trim desensitization.

How they train

The about page says the trainer has "over 10 years of experience working with dogs of all types", has owned reactive dogs, and has an educational background in psychology and animal behavior. Sessions happen at home and often, so habits form where problems actually occur, and the trainer brings a calm 150-pound dog, Argos, to help with reactivity work. The FAQ says the business recommends the protocols it thinks suit your dog but can use alternative approaches if you are uncomfortable with a method.
