About Canine Learning Center
What they offer
Canine Learning Center is a class-based dog training center at 1300 Blue Spruce Dr, Suite B, in Fort Collins, and the site says it opened in January 1993. Classes are organized by discipline: puppy classes (Puppy Kindergarten, AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and Puppy Prep School), beginning and intermediate obedience, rally, Canine Good Citizen, odor detection, conformation, life skills, a Reactive Rover class category and drop-in classes. A Fresh Start class for adopted adult dogs covers basic obedience, house training and issues such as resource guarding.
How they train
The site says treats, toys and positive reinforcement methods are used in its classes, and its S.T.A.R. Puppy class asks for a plain buckle collar or harness, with no prong, pinch, electronic or choke collars. It describes its focus as listening to owner needs and responding with flexibility and a variety of training methods. Its team page lists several instructors; it says Emily Bink is a Certified Dog Trainer with the Karen Pryor Academy and an AKC Canine Good Citizen and STAR Puppy Evaluator.
Good to know
Each class meets on the same day and time for its published number of weeks, and the class fee is due at registration. The site names Brad and Kathryn Ray as the new owners. It is open during classes and by appointment, and it rents space for dog-related activities.
