About American Dog School

What they offer

American Dog School is an obedience school run by owner and trainer Tami Carrasco, based in Loveland and serving Fort Collins and Northern Colorado. Training starts with private obedience classes and moves on to an unlimited group class once you and your dog are ready; the site says group classes are usually weekly and often travel to public places, such as Twin Silo Park in Fort Collins. It also offers two- and four-week board and train programs, boarding, help with behavior problems, and a dog protection training program. An AKC program prepares dogs for S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Community Canine and Urban Canine Good Citizen, and for therapy dog evaluations.

How they train

The site says training covers voice and hand commands, radius training and behavior modification, and states "We believe NO DOG IS UNTRAINABLE". Board and train dogs get one-on-one work several times a day, and the program is limited to 10 dogs at a time.

Good to know

The site gives its address as 2730 14th Street SE in Loveland, with boarding just off Hwy 402, and group classes often meet out in public, so confirm where your sessions will meet. A free introductory class is offered any day of the week, and Tami prefers contact by text.
