Mike Burkel Dog Training is a Phoenix dog trainer with four programs. Day training gives dogs full days of structured training, exercise and enrichment, practicing door manners, recall, leash skills and calm behavior between activities, and dogs go home every night. Private lessons are one-on-one at the facility or in your own home and neighborhood. Six-week group courses run at three levels: Puppy Foundations, Foundations and Intermediate. Board and train is intensive daily training while the dog stays, including e-collar conditioning and off-leash reliability.

How day training works

Dogs are grouped by personality, energy and training needs, and the site says there are no more than 10 dogs a day. Owners receive a report card on how the dog did. Dogs are accepted from 8 weeks old and must be current on age-appropriate shots, including rabies, kennel cough and parvo. The first day serves as the evaluation, with no separate fee.
