Canine Companions for Independence
About Canine Companions for Independence
Canine Companions (Delaware, OH campus) is the regional center of the national nonprofit that provides expertly-trained service dogs — free of charge — to people with disabilities.
What they are
Not a hire-a-trainer for your own pet: Canine Companions breeds, raises and professionally trains service, facility and skilled-companion dogs, then places them at no cost with children, adults and veterans with disabilities, plus ongoing follow-up support.
Programs
Service-dog placement and training programs run through the organization's professional trainers and volunteer puppy-raiser network, served locally from the North Central regional campus near Columbus.
Experience & credentials
One of the most respected service-dog organizations in the country, with decades of professional training experience and rigorous standards.
Who it’s best for
Best for people with disabilities seeking a trained service dog (or anyone wanting to volunteer/support) — not for general pet obedience, where a local trainer in this directory is the right fit.

A company that does amazing things with Service Dogs for people who are in need of these programs. With integrity and without any cost to people who receive a dog from them. The company is filled with Volunteers and funded by Donations.
This is the north central division of the canine companions for independence. It is the north central training facility to train dogs for assisanting handicapped people in allowing them to assimilate into the normal living environment. I was on this trip turning in the puppy I had trained and raised for professional training to custemize the dog for a specific person.
