About Trainers to the Rescue
Obedience and rally in Cornelius
Trainers to the Rescue is a dog training center on SW Unger Rd in Cornelius focused on pet manners and competition obedience. Its trainers include Sally Wells and Cindy Leung, and the team's own dogs have earned obedience, rally and tracking titles, including High in Trial wins.
Philosophy
The team describes its method as working as a team with your dog and training in a constructive way, and prefers to describe it in those terms rather than under a single label.
Classes
Foundations classes range from teaching a well-mannered pet to building a base for competition. Competitive Obedience covers every skill needed for AKC and UKC obedience, including ring preparation, and Rally Obedience classes let teams run courses with instructor feedback. Distance learning runs over Zoom, such as a class on directed retrieves, blind retrieves and casting, and workshops are offered too. On Fridays from 2 to 8 pm the temperature-controlled building with competition equipment is open for practice at $10 for current students and $20 for the public, and the facility can be rented.
