About Brooks K9 Solutions

Balanced training in Hillsboro

Brooks K9 Solutions is a Hillsboro dog training business built around communication, cooperation and compassion. Head trainer and owner Cari Brooks started with dogs in college, managing daycare and boarding dogs, then worked at other daycares and trained with a large training company before starting her own business.

Method

Cari describes her philosophy as balance through relationship building and motivation. Alongside positive reinforcement she uses pressure and release training she learned training horses, teaching dogs to yield to pressure for loose-leash walking and off-leash freedom with a remote collar. She also coaches owners to use the same communication system, and she especially enjoys giving dogs off-leash freedom and helping with reactivity, aggression and fear.

Programs and recognition

Services include day training, lessons, board and train, puppy raising and adventure days. In April 2024 Cari took 1st Place in PPD Prep and a high obedience score at a Practical Protection Dog Trial.

What owners say

One client wrote that Cari "trained our VERY stubborn Chow Chow into an incredible angel."
