An all-breed club in Eastern Idaho
Upper Snake River Valley Dog Training Club (USRVDTC) is an all-breed dog club based in the Idaho Falls area. It was established in 1952 as a nonprofit, with the basic objective of promoting the training of dogs and conducting obedience trials under American Kennel Club (AKC) rules. The club describes itself as one of three AKC member obedience clubs in Idaho, and it credits itself with holding Idaho's first Obedience Trial in 1956 and first Tracking Test in 1961.
Classes and events
Training is open to members and non-members. Class topics include AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy, obedience, rally, tracking, agility, scent work and trick dog. The club hosts official AKC obedience trials, tracking tests and agility trials, and recent news posts cover scent work, agility and obedience/rally trials. Mixed-breed dogs are welcome in AKC-affiliated competition. Members come from Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, Shelley, Swan Valley, Rexburg and other Eastern Idaho towns.
