About Las Cruces Dog Sports
What they offer
Las Cruces Dog Sports trains from its own facility in La Mesa and specializes in dog agility, with classes of up to six dog and handler teams, drill sessions and seminars. It caters mainly to teams that compete or want to compete, offers beginner agility a couple of times a year, and asks dogs that are new to the facility to book a private lesson first. It also offers puppy classes, private lessons, canine fitness and canine massage.
How they train
The owner credits her own competition success to a great foundation and to creating confidence through clear communication and positive reinforcement.
About the trainers
The principal owner, Kim Fuqua, has trained professionally since 2010 and has competed at AKC Nationals; the site lists her as a graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy and a certified canine fitness trainer. Other agility instructors teach alongside her.
