About K-9 STAC of South Dakota Premier Sports Complex

Dog sports in Rapid City

K-9 STAC of South Dakota is a dog sports complex at 5100 143rd Avenue in Rapid City, run by David and Angela Dorn. The team works with dogs and their owners in dock diving, lure coursing and scent work, and its stated mission is to bring joy and excitement to every dog and owner through a versatile approach to canine training. The complex also lists upcoming events, including a Fast CAT event held in conjunction with the Black Hills Dog Training Club.

Experience and approach

The Dorns describe over 30 years of combined canine training experience, with a background in working K-9s that they share with the local dog sport community. Their program emphasizes the health, well-being and mental stimulation of every dog, along with socialization, responsible pet ownership and ethical training standards. Experienced instructors lead the activities, and the complex places weight on community: owners connecting, sharing experiences and celebrating each dog's achievements.
