Lone Willow Kennel near Burbank is the retriever kennel of Steve and Judy Blythe. Steve has trained dogs for nearly 40 years, working from the "Lardy" method and adapting each dog's training to its individual needs and personality, whether the goal is a hunting companion or success at the QAA or AA level.

Field trial record

The kennel says many of its dogs excel in Amateur and Open field trial stakes and that Steve has qualified many dogs for the National Retriever Club Championship. In 1990 alone, Steve ran 6 dogs at the National Open, and he has handled over 70 dogs to the QAA and/or Derby List.

Today

Since his surgery in 2019, Steve has turned to young dogs for sale as field trial or hunting dogs and to training hunting dogs. The kennel also offers boarding, started dogs, finished dogs and puppies.
