About SoDak Labradors & Gundog Kennels LLC

Gun dog and obedience training near Mitchell

SoDak Labradors & Gundog Kennels LLC is a small kennel in a peaceful country location five miles west of Mitchell, in the heart of South Dakota pheasant country. It is described as both business and pleasure for Mike Musick, an experienced trainer and avid bird hunter who develops dogs into enthusiastic sporting dogs and reliable companions in the field and in the water. The kennel also breeds hunting Labradors.

Training

Gun dog training is structured around each dog's unique personality, with a commitment to repetition and positive reinforcement. Scheduled sessions with the owner and dog teach owners to handle their dog in all situations, since working with the owner as handler is treated as just as important as training the dog. Obedience training covers basic commands through advanced techniques, aiming for a well-mannered companion and a harmonious bond between dog and owner. The program also covers skills like tracking and retrieving.
