Diamond K Kennels is a family-owned and operated kennel in rural Freeman run by the Krull family, specializing in pointing Labrador retrievers. It offers gun dog training, bird dog training, obedience training, hunt test training, stud dog services and Labrador puppies. Trainer Josh Krull worked as a professional pheasant guide at 14 with his first Labrador, and the kennel says he has titled numerous dogs with an approach built on patience, consistency and communication.

Programs

The gun and bird dog program, adaptable for waterfowl, upland or both, covers basic obedience (sit, heel, here, kennel), force fetch, collar conditioning and introductions to gun, birds and marked retrieves, aiming for a turn-key hunting dog. The retriever program works toward AKC, UKC and APLA hunt test titles with marked, blind and multiple marked retrieves and upland birds. The kennel titles dogs in APLA, AKC and HRC hunt tests. Each program is $859.65 per month, tax included, covering food and training; birds, handling and test fees are extra.

Client support

Clients get weekly communication, twice-monthly video updates, three post-completion private lessons and 12 months of monthly group gun dog classes.
