About Tooker Kennels

Tooker Kennels in Ridge

Tooker Kennels is a gun dog, hunt test and obedience trainer based at its kennel in Ridge, with training grounds that span "thousands of acres of private and public domain throughout Suffolk County." Those grounds include both fresh and salt water habitats. Peter Tooker is described as a Master Dog Trainer with over 20 years of experience, whose programs were inspired by his time working and learning under Richard Reece.

Programs

Gun dog and hunt test programs focus on retrievers, while obedience training and boarding are open to all breeds. The kennel's view is that "a great gun dog shouldn't know the difference between hunt testing, and family time," and its programs aim to prepare dogs for all conditions and scenarios, public and private. Dogs boarding at the kennel get exercise and play on the same land used for training.
