About Coexisting Canine Dog Training
Coexisting Canine in Riverhead
Coexisting Canine Dog Training is a Riverhead trainer run by Corinn Halsey, who says "Fear, anxiety, and aggression are my specialty." Her approach is to see things from the dog's point of view, with "no harsh equipment needed." Corinn became a Certified Personal Dog Trainer "over 10 years ago," graduated with Honors from the Animal Behavior College and is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. She has also volunteered at a local shelter, helping fearful and aggressive dogs find homes.
Classes
Group classes meet at 2416 Sound Ave in Baiting Hollow, at the Baiting Hollow church. Six-week courses include Puppy I (8-20 weeks) with supervised off-leash play, Puppy II (6-11 months), Dog Adult Ed and an AKC Canine Good Citizen class. The Growl Class serves dog-reactive dogs, and four-week Calming Circle classes help dogs who fear people or other dogs. One-hour clinics cover jumping, loose leash walking, stay, recall and settling down on cue.
Private lessons
For private lessons Corinn comes to your location, covering obedience, manners, structure and behavioral issues including fear and aggression. Bulk session, senior, veterans and shelter dog discounts are offered.
