About Valley Hills Obedience Club

What they offer

Valley Hills Obedience Club is a dog club in the San Fernando Valley that runs group classes in several dog sports at private locations around the Valley. You do not have to be a member to enroll in a class.

Classes

The beginning competitive obedience class teaches the foundations for AKC obedience titles: focused attention, heeling, stays, recalls, fronts and finishes, and ring etiquette. A combined open and utility class works on retrieves, jumps, signals and scent discrimination for experienced teams. Agility classes cover novice to advanced handling. Teams joining the competition classes should already have finished a basic manners class.

The club

The club publishes a monthly newsletter and holds annual obedience and rally trials. Class sizes are small, so ask the instructor about openings and prerequisites.
