About CANIS – Dog Behavior & Training

What they offer

CANIS Behavior and Training is a dog training and behavior business on Topham Street in Tarzana, founded in 2016, that also runs a day club, boarding and grooming. Its training menu covers behavior consulting, an all-inclusive takeover program, board and train, day training, group classes and one-on-one private coaching.

Classes and coaching

Group classes put particular emphasis on distraction work, so dogs learn to make reasonable decisions in the real world, and lead on to later levels built on patience and impulse control. Private coaching follows a personalized lesson plan with weekly goals. The takeover programs are curated to each family and teach both owner and dog new skills.

Approach

The business describes its mission as educating owners as much as training dogs, so families learn how to live with their dogs day to day.
