About spcaLA P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village and Education Center

What they offer

The spcaLA P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village in Long Beach is one of the locations of an independent nonprofit animal welfare organization that runs dog training classes alongside adoptions and humane education.

Classes

Group classes are limited to between four and eight dogs. Options include AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and puppy kindergarten, obedience from basic through advanced, fun nose work, agility for beginners or competitors, and specialty classes such as Come When Called, trick training, flyball, parkour, scent tracking and Reactive Rover for managing a reactive dog's reactions. Classes run in multi-week sessions and are booked through an online registration portal.

Good to know

Group classes are meant for friendly dogs; dogs that growl at people or have bitten are not suitable for group classes. The organization uses positive training methods only and does not support prong, choke or shock collars.
