About High Desert Obedience Club
What they offer
High Desert Obedience Club is a non-profit dog club in the Antelope Valley that has offered dog obedience classes since 1981. Its classes run in seven-week sessions taught by trainers the club describes as AKC award winning.
Classes
The group classes teach basic commands such as sit and stay, with games and some agility mixed in. Puppy classes cover basic obedience, housebreaking tips and focus through distraction, with a chance to earn the AKC Star Puppy certificate. A recent session schedule listed Puppy Preschool, Basic Novice, beginner and intermediate Rally, beginner and advanced Scent Work, and a Canine Good Citizen class. Graduates can move on to tricks or nose work.
Getting involved
The club trains and certifies Canine Good Citizens and connects owners with therapy dog opportunities. Registration is by application with vaccine records, and membership is open to adults in good standing with the American Kennel Club.
