About Surf’s Up Dog Training

What they offer

Surf's Up Dog Training is a San Diego company that offers in-home dog training for dogs of any age, breed or behavior issue. Its programs include in-home obedience, a puppy program for puppies four months and under that covers crate training, potty training, basic commands, leash walking, chewing, biting and focus, and a program for reactive dogs and dogs with aggressive tendencies. The company also offers training for new parents preparing a dog for a baby.

Approach

The site describes a LIMA (least intrusive, minimally aversive) approach that combines positive reinforcement with teaching the dog which behaviors are not wanted. Every program includes training outside in the real world so owners can take their dogs out with confidence.
