About Shady Canine Academy

Services

Shady Canine Academy covers basic and advanced obedience, public access, special skills, canine issues and custom-tailored programs. Group sessions include "Reconnect The Leash" (heel training), "Once Said" (one-command obedience) and "Puppy Come Back" (recall). The site notes training can scale "from a simple learning to walk on a leash to a full fledged service companion."

Approach

The academy uses a handler-inclusive method: "we train the handler along with your canine, so you learn with your canine," emphasizing practice and reinforcement and comparing it to learning a language.
