Certified, Force-Free Training

The Erie location of Paws 'n Claws Pet Resort offers dog training led by Julie Iddings, ABCDT, a lifelong Erie resident who received her dog-training certification from the Animal Behavior College in October 2008 and became an Animal Behavior College Mentor in 2010. In 2012 she became a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, working with Therapy Dogs United to evaluate future therapy dogs. The program commits to non-aversive, force-free, and fear-free training using positive reinforcement.

Classes Offered

Courses meet once a week for one hour and span multiple levels: beginner training, an intermediate class for dogs who have completed puppy or beginner training, a Canine Good Citizen class geared toward certification, and an outdoor class focused on sit and down stays, loose-leash walking, off-leash heeling, and recall in an outdoor setting. Classes take place at the Erie facility (1530 West 26th Street). Pre-registration and a non-refundable $50 deposit are required to hold a spot. Training here is distinct from the resort's boarding, grooming, and daycare offerings.
