Fur Paws Pet Hotel in Houston

Fur Paws is a family-run pet hotel at 5004 Katy Fwy in Houston's Greater Heights area, offering boarding, daycare, grooming and training. Owners Nazira Curi and Jorge Guerra manage and supervise it. Jorge is a third-generation dog trainer from a line of K-9 instructors for the Colombian National Police, credited with 40+ years of sporting, civilian and military training and a canine instructor certification earned in Germany.

Training options and prices

Sessions take place at Fur Paws or at the owner's home, with a $25 transportation fee within 5 miles. A consultation runs 45 minutes to an hour for $115 at Fur Paws or $140 at home, and a 10-20 minute temperament evaluation costs $30. Private lessons are $105 at Fur Paws or $140 at home. Training plus daycare is $130 per day and training plus boarding is $145 per day. The 2 Weeks Training Program costs $2,200 and includes 14 days of boarding and training, four owner classes and a certificate of completion.

Courses

The two-week program can focus on basic obedience on leash, advanced obedience off leash, or puppy breaking, which covers house problems, potty accidents and early leash work. Other courses include assistance, therapy and service dogs, defense, guard and custody, and narcotic and explosive work.
