Retriever and obedience training west of Houston

Hendricks Kennels is a Katy training and boarding kennel surrounded by farmland just west of Houston, in operation since 1991. It began as a retriever training facility and now handles obedience and boarding as well.

The trainers

Owner and professional trainer Steve Hendricks is credited with more than 30 years of training dogs through a system based on respect and compassion. He worked as a professional waterfowl guide for more than 20 years, has earned duck and goose calling championship trophies, and is described as having trained and handled national champions, including hall of fame retrievers, along with thousands of companion dogs. General manager Adam Moore has trained tracking dogs, pointers and companion dogs and aims to compete in national-level hunt tests.

Programs

Training options include head start training, retriever training, obedience training, board and train, refresher courses and boarding. Retriever clients start with a free evaluation, and dogs that are accepted get a program designed for them.
