About For Dogs Only

Dogs need a job

For Dogs Only is a training and dog sports center in Alvin whose motto is "Dogs Need A Job." Its FDO Center sits on 6 acres: a 150-by-150-foot air-conditioned building with turf, used for agility, seminars, training and obedience or rally lessons, plus indoor and outdoor rings for rental practice.

Classes

The center uses and encourages positive training methods. Basic Obedience builds a foundation week to week with treats and toys and can include competition obedience skills. AKC Rally Obedience covers all the Novice through Masters stations. Agility runs from Foundation and Beginners/Novice through Intermediate/Open to Competition. Freestyle/Tricks, drop-in Conformation, Scent/Nose Work, Flyball and private lessons complete the lineup, and teams are evaluated when the right level is unclear.

Events

The arena hosts AKC and CPE agility trials, flyball practice, seminars and practice runs throughout the year.
