Mud Puppies is an independent, locally owned dog daycare, boarding, grooming and training business in Austin, with locations at 12233 Ranch Rd 620 N near Cedar Park and 12196 N Mopac Expy near The Domain. It has been part of Austin for more than two decades, the current ownership team took over in 2008, and it calls itself a seven-time Best of Austin winner.

Training

Training at Mud Puppies uses positive reinforcement exclusively, built on trust rather than fear, with dedicated trainers on staff at both locations. Train and Play adds basic obedience, manners and socialization to six playcare days for $390. Behavior Modification is a structured six-day program with playcare for reactivity, anxiety and resource guarding, starting with a consultation, for $450. Private sessions take place in your home: an initial 45-minute consultation is $75, then $125 per session or $565.50 for five. Puppy socialization classes build confidence during the early learning window. Private lessons can start at 8 weeks, and training with daycare begins at 12 weeks once vaccines are in place.

Daycare, boarding and grooming

Playcare groups are curated by size, temperament and energy, boarding includes a private bunk plus daytime play, and the Mopac location adds a self-service dog wash. A $35 Meet and Greet day starts new dogs.
