About Heart of Texas Dog Training Austin

In-home training in Austin

Heart of Texas Dog Training Austin, formerly known as Longhorn Dog Training, offers real-world dog training in Austin and its surrounding areas. The Austin team is led by owner and professional dog trainer Brian Ponder and head trainer and manager Kristen Flora. Programs are built around each dog, its environment and the owner's goals, starting with a behavior consultation.

Programs

In-home training works with the dog where behavior happens, then extends into neighborhood walks and controlled exposure to nearby distractions. Puppy training focuses on engagement and preventing bad habits, and basic obedience teaches commands and focus around distractions. Anxiety training builds confidence through structure, aggressive dog training helps dogs stay calmer around triggers, and training for new parents prepares a dog for life with a baby. Other topics include leash training, barking, hyper dogs, service dog training and puppy board and train. The team serves neighborhoods across Austin, from Hyde Park and Mueller to Circle C Ranch, plus Pflugerville, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Kyle and Buda.

Scheduling

Office hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm, and training runs weekdays, weeknights and weekends by appointment. Call 512-647-2130.
