About Hael & Hounds

Balanced training and boarding in Austin

Hael & Hounds offers dog training and boarding in Austin and the surrounding Kyle and Buda area. Trainer Sophie began her career in 2014 at a training center where she was certified through Animal Behavior College, served as head trainer and ran group classes, and in 2018 attended the Starmark Academy for Certified Canine Trainers and Behavior Specialists. Her specialties are service dogs, socialization, scent detection and obedience. She is a member of the IACP and the International Association of Assistance Dog Partners and an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. The business is named for Hael, her late Doberman and medical alert dog.

Services

Hael & Hounds coaches owners to be even tempered yet assertive through balanced training. Group classes meet weekly in a public setting such as a park or pet-friendly store. Private lessons are held one-on-one at the facility, and in-home private lessons address problems where they happen, such as begging or jumping on visitors. Board and train and boarding take place in the trainers' home, and maintenance training combines daytime play and training. Baths and nail trims are offered at pickup.
