Life skills training in Austin

Focused K9 trains dogs of all breeds and ages in the Austin area, from basic on-leash obedience to off-leash freedom in a variety of environments. Its training rests on four pillars: biological fulfillment, clear communication with clear consequences for listening or not, calm liberty, and functional obedience for real-world outings such as patios, stores and off-leash hikes.

Programs

Private lessons are one-on-one, in your home or on the road, covering basic and advanced obedience, manners, tricks and competitive obedience. Board and train runs 3 or 6 weeks with daily lessons, and the trainer then brings the dog home and teaches the owner everything it learned. The Puppy Program, for puppies 5 months and under, is 7 days of boarding followed by four weeks of private lessons. For dogs that have bitten a person or another dog, the behavior modification program combines an initial consultation, 6 weeks of board and train, 4 weeks of lessons at home and ongoing help afterward.
