Positive in-home training

Double D Dog Training is a San Antonio private, in-home dog trainer founded by Dean, who launched the business in 2017 after a 20-year career in software sales. He delivers every program personally, works with the whole family, and uses positive reinforcement only, with humane, science-based LIMA methods; prong collars, choke chains and shock collars are ruled out. Areas served include Stone Oak, Leon Springs, Helotes, Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne, with extra practice sessions at local dog-friendly places.

Credentials

Dean holds the CPDT-KA from the Council of Certified Professional Dog Trainers. His credentials also include the Karen Pryor Academy Foundation Course, a Susan Smith Learning Theory course, Pet First Aid & CPR, Professional Member of the APDT, and 10 years of in-home dog training.

Programs

The Puppy Foundation Program (8 weeks to 6 months) is $550 for four one-hour sessions, and the Home Ready Program for dogs 7 months and up is $575. The Community Ready Program ($1,025, 6 sessions) adds two public sessions, and the Confident Dog Program ($1,395, 8 sessions) adds behavior modification and separation anxiety work. Two-session Behavioral Solutions packages are $250. Travel beyond a 15 mile radius adds a one-time $50 trip charge.
