About Cape K9 LLC

Obedience, puppies and working dogs

Cape K9 is a Cape Coral dog training business founded in March 2020 by trainer Jamie North and Cassi Hersman North. It trains any breed at any age and lists training locations in Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Punta Gorda. Jamie North has worked with dogs for 20+ years, starting in Schutzhund obedience, tracking and protection, and has attended seminars with trainers including Ivan Balabanov and Gottfried Dildei.

Programs

Private obedience lessons start with a free evaluation and train dog and owner one-on-one. Clients may then join group environmental conditioning classes, usually held on Saturday mornings, and a Monday night City Pack Walk. Environmental Awareness Training works through distractions, new people and unfamiliar surfaces. Puppy Training uses clicker training and puppy imprinting for puppies 8 to 16 weeks old. Day Stay and Train runs half days (4 hours) focused on obedience and environmental conditioning. Advanced options include off-lead and remote collar training, scent detection classes and protection training for those who qualify. Cape K9 also offers in-home dog watching in parts of Cape Coral and sells imported working dogs and puppies.
