A German Shepherd kennel in Morriston

Canine Extreme is a family-owned German Shepherd kennel and training facility on 33 acres in Morriston, between Ocala and Gainesville. Founded in 2000 by head trainer Raul Hernandez, it is run with trainer Colby Hernandez and breeds and sells German Shepherd puppies and trained adult dogs. The kennel says it is AKC inspected annually.

Training

Training runs from basic obedience to advanced Level 3 Executive Protection, police work and narcotics. At the Morriston facility, Raul leads basic obedience group classes for dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. The puppy program builds a foundation with positive reinforcement and socialization. The grounds include an IGP field, a 6-acre tracking field, an agility course and a climate-controlled kennel.

About the trainers

Raul learned dog training from his grandfather in Cuba, then served as a K-9 Unit Sergeant before retiring from the unit in 2000. He has competed German Shepherds at all levels of IGP in the United States and Germany. His philosophy focuses on educating the owner and on consistent communication and reward, with positive reinforcement tailored to each dog's drives.
