About Sit Means Sit Dog Training Cleveland & Akron

Approach

This is the Copley, Ohio location of Sit Means Sit, a remote-collar (e-collar) training franchise, with Paul Pollock listed as Owner and Training Director. The page itself references "latest training methods" and "positive reinforcement techniques" for puppies but does not spell out the brand's signature e-collar work in detail; the e-collar method is the franchise's known hallmark.

Programs

Services include Puppy Primers, day training, private lessons, group classes, Lunch and Learn sessions, therapy dog certification, and seminars. Behavior modification is offered for aggression, high anxiety and fear, high-distraction work, off-leash reliability, reactivity, and socialization.

Delivery is flexible: a facility at 1062A Jacoby Rd plus private lessons conducted in the owner's home or another preferred location, and group classes on site. Staff are described as "certified Sit Means Sit Dog Training staff," though no independent certification acronyms or years in business are listed on the page. The mix of off-leash and behavior focus makes it a fit for owners wanting reliable off-leash control and help with reactivity or anxiety.

What they can help with

Early socialization, house-training and first manners for young dogs.
Behavior modification for unwanted or problem habits.
Therapy Dog Training
Prep to visit hospitals, schools and care homes as a certified therapy dog.

We just graduated today! Doug was our trainer and he is amazing! Luca is a 5 year old Morkie who has high anxiety. Working with Doug has made a huge impact on our lives and Luca’s too! We are looking forward to group classes to learn more fun activities! Some people might think this company is expensive but it has been worth every penny!!! Luca is much more lovable and calmer than I could imagine. Doug also trained my husband and me too. We were harder than Luca! Thanks again Doug! See you in group classes.

I adopted a 12 week old border collie puppy last January. We started puppy obedience classes right away, at another training place, he totally mastered all the tricks, sit, down, ect., but still wouldn’t listen and was super reactive to anything that moved. So we moved on to a different training class, again somewhere else, with the clicker training and same results, still wouldn’t listen, told “oh it’s just his breed.” I kept looking for someone that might be able to help, I just wanted a good dog that I could take places with me, that’s when I found Sit means Sit. The ecollar seemed scary at first, “omg it’s a shock collar!” It’s not! It’s a great training tool! The price for the program seemed reasonable after breaking it down and looking at the big picture, it’s cheaper than other training courses in the long run. We had already spent over $500 in 4 months going to other programs with no results. After just one day of training at sit means sit, he was like a totally different dog. He was looking at me for direction, staying and not trying to herd anything that moved, actually listening, even when there were squirrels in the yard, and more confident! We are 7 months in to our training at Sit means Sit and so happy we made the decision to go with them. The trainers are knowledgeable and so helpful. They have even come out to my house to help with neighborhood walks!! Highly recommend!! You won’t be disappointed!

We had a great experience with Sit Means Sit! My fiancé and I recently adopted our Australian Shepherd, Teddy, and he came into training with very little confidence and a great amount of nervousness/anxiety. After 5 weeks, the distraction training had made such a huge difference! Teddy is now more confident and more obedient with us. Alexa, Chloe, and Doug were all amazing trainers and were very patient with Teddy as he was still very hesitant/nervous when meeting new people. Sit means sit training is worth it, as long as you are willing to put in the work!

We just graduated today! Doug was our trainer, just amazing with our dog, Luca! He is doing so much better and so are we. Doug also trained my husband and me!!!! We have a lot more practicing to do but he has made life for him and us more fun! Thanks Doug! We can’t wait to learn more in group classes! People might say it’s expensive but it’s worth every penny to have a calm and attentive dog!!! He is actually more lovable than ever.

We took one dog there that was totally out of control and when we graduated he was a totally different dog. Now we can take him and go around people and he’s so good.
We’re so happy to have made this decision.
Look at the picture, look at him smiling(and not with showing his teeth) he’s a tough breed thou and we still have to show him who’s boss

Sit means sit has done the tough ground work and showed us how it’s done

Thank u guys
Specially to Alexa
