Counting over the same sixteen South Metro Atlanta businesses that publish readable pages of their own — twenty-nine are listed, nineteen returned a page, and three of those nineteen gave only a parked domain, a third-party listing or a bare contact form — five mention group work of any kind and eleven publish nothing but private, in-home, drop-off or residential formats. Group obedience is the minority format here, and that is the most useful thing to know before you start calling.

One operation is the exception, and it is the only one publishing a standing weekly timetable: three distraction-based group obedience sessions a week, one on a weekday evening, one on a weekday morning and one on a Saturday, alongside a six-week beginner course and a free weekly evening pack walk that people who are not clients are invited to join. The sessions are not all taught at its own address either — several are hosted at borrowed venues around the metro, and the page tells readers to check its Facebook page for weather cancellations before setting out.

Two more offer group work as an option rather than a schedule. A boarding and daycare facility invites you to “Choose from group or private classes in our dedicated, indoor training room”, and an obedience and working-dog specialist lists “Private and group lessons available to fit your routine” under flexible scheduling; neither publishes a day, a start date or a course length. A fourth runs group classes for puppies only, in two towns, and takes adult dogs one-to-one. A fifth mentions group sessions and open training nights at its own facility as part of the program its dogs complete there.

The word class is doing double duty on these pages, and that is the trap worth naming. At least two businesses use it for work with no other dogs in it: one writes that “All classes are taught in the privacy of your own home”, another advertises “One on one handler classes with you and your dog!” A third answers the question head-on — asked whether the trainer comes to you, it replies “Yes! All training is done in the comfort of your home where life happens.” Seeing the word class on a listing in this metro does not tell you a group is involved.

So if a weeknight group obedience class is what you are after, the published supply is one timetable plus two operations that say they will run a group. Ask which day it runs, how many weeks it lasts and whether a section is actually filling — the pages settle almost none of that.
