I cannot say enough good things about Buckeye K9. We adopted a 2-year-old shepherd mix who was extremely reactive — barking and lunging at every dog, bike and skateboard we passed, to the point we’d stopped walking him during the day. After eight weeks in their board-and-train program he came home a completely different dog. The trainers sent us video updates almost every evening so we never felt out of the loop, and they spent two full sessions teaching US how to maintain the work at home. Six months later he walks past other dogs without a second glance. Worth every single dollar and then some.

Took our golden puppy through the puppy foundations class. Knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely kind to the dogs. House-training finally clicked within two weeks of following their plan.

We’d been to two other trainers in Columbus before finding Buckeye and honestly almost gave up. Our rescue had severe separation anxiety — destroyed crates, scratched-up doors, neighbors complaining about the howling. The team built a slow, structured desensitization plan and checked in with us every week. It wasn’t an overnight fix and they were upfront about that from day one, which I really appreciated versus the trainers who promised miracles. Three months in we can leave the house for a few hours without coming home to chaos. If you have a serious behavior case, this is who you want.

Did the in-home package since our dog’s issues only showed up at the house. Trainer came out four times, sorted the door-dashing and counter-surfing, and left us with clear homework each visit. Real, lasting results.

Pricey compared to others but you get what you pay for. Communication could be a touch faster, but the training itself is top notch and our reactive rescue is night-and-day better.
Best trainer in the Columbus area, hands down. Transformed our anxious pup into a confident dog over a couple of months. The whole team clearly loves what they do.

Brought our adolescent lab here after he started ignoring every command and pulling us down the street. The group classes were structured but fun, and the trainers actually take the time to explain the “why” behind each exercise instead of just drilling commands. He’s now reliable off-leash in the backyard and we’re working up to the park. Couldn’t be happier with the progress.
