David Ackerman is a very good trainer. His facilities are clean and work well for training. He was clear as he made his points and patient in helping us understand. My wife and I went to the classes together. We took our six year old grand daughter with us once as well to help her know how to handle our new puppy. David’s classes helped us a lot!

Ruger's (now1 year old Golden Retriever) and my training started with the 5-week basic obedience class. Which progressed to the 4-week off lead obedience class then to an abbreviated 4-week force training and shed (deer) retrieval training. Dave has an abundance of patience, knowledge and a love for dogs. His patience with me (the owner) was greatly appreciated. If you're looking for a true professional who will train your best friend and you as well, I highly recommend Dave! Dave has a box which he will share with you during the training. I highly recommend you take what is in box and use it every day with your best friend. Finally, the training does not stop when you complete whatever course you choose but it is an ongoing effort that pays dividends. Wow Dave Ackerman is something, we have a five month old GSD he weigh in a fifty five pounds and is ridiculous on a led, we taught him several things but heel wasn't working. We took him to Dave and bang half hour in it was like heel was something he's done all along. After one class he's much easier to control, he's one-on-one with you and your dog, he welcomes family members to participate, he's reasonably priced, he trains all breeds and training is done inside a large climate controlled building. I can't say enough about Ackerman Retriever
