American Boarding Kennel at 1102 Highway 13 East in Burnsville describes itself as family-owned and operated since 1977. Training classes

Puppy Kindergarten is for puppies 8 to 20 weeks and small breeds new to formal training, introducing sit, down, leash walking and recall plus confidence building on puppy agility equipment. Puppy Basic serves pups 5 to 7 months. Basic Obedience for dogs over 5 months covers controlled leash walking, sit, down, wait at doorways, recall and go to mat, with commands "gently enforced to ensure reliable performance." Intermediate Obedience introduces off-leash work and prepares dogs for Canine Good Citizen and therapy dog certification. Scent work lets dogs earn AKC titles. The six-week classes are $139.74 per session, and training while boarding is also available.
