About Angel Paw Dog Training

Angel Paw Dog Training is Doreen Rossi, working from 27 Van De Bogart Rd in Woodstock. The practice began in Westchester County in 2007 – private training, group classes and volunteer work – and moved north in 2019: "Having moved to beautiful Woodstock, NY in 2019, Doreen offers one-on-one training sessions for individuals and families in the local area." She describes nearly twenty years working with dogs of all breeds, sizes and temperaments, and styles herself a Certified Master Dog Trainer, Canine Consultant and Behaviorist.

What is on offer

Two areas, both worked one-to-one. Obedience Training is the foundation set – the site lists sit, stay, down, come and leash walking. Problem Solving and Behavior Modification covers the ordinary domestic failures that make living with a dog hard: "housetraining issues, jumping, excessive barking, nipping, biting, and other destructive or undesirable behaviors." Sessions are in person, and virtual sessions are offered as a genuine alternative rather than a fallback – the front page says they run "with excellent results." Programs are flexible by design: "Whether you require a single session or multiple sessions, our goal remains the same."

How it is framed

The emphasis throughout is on coaching the owner rather than handing back a trained dog. The stated focus is "addressing your concerns and building your confidence as a dog owner," strengthening the bond, and making the sessions enjoyable, with phone, email and text support between them. The site says the practice is trusted by veterinarians, groomers, pet sitters and animal shelters. Payment is by Venmo, Zelle or PayPal, and there is a student gallery rather than a price list, so the cost is a conversation.

Who it suits

Woodstock and the towns around it, for households who want someone to come and coach them through a specific set of problems rather than enrol in a course, and for anyone whose schedule makes a video session more realistic than a drive. Best for: basic obedience, house-training, jumping, barking and general manners, in person or online.
