Ashley's K9 Training is a dog training business owned and operated in Bertram, serving most locations within an hour of Austin, with virtual and longer-distance work for service dog training and behavior modification. Founder and head trainer Ashley Dicken is a certified canine trainer and behavior specialist with a top-tier certification from Starmark Academy. She is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and an AKC Canine Good Citizen, Community Canine, Urban Canine Citizen and S.T.A.R. Puppy Evaluator. Her own dog, Zelena, who had severe aggression and reactivity, led her into training.

Approach and programs

The approach is balanced and reinforcement-based: positive reinforcement is the foundation, paired with clear boundaries and fair guidance through unwanted behaviors, with tools chosen to suit each dog. Every client starts with a virtual or in-person consultation and mini lesson, then picks a program. Options include private lessons and personal coaching, day training, board and train, boarding, play days, and service dog training from the early stages through the Public Access Test. A rescue program and scholarship programs are also offered. Skills range from puppy foundations and crate comfort to reliable on- and off-leash obedience, public greetings and social skills.
