What they do

The Cheshire Bridge branch of Barking Hound Village — “conveniently nicknamed ‘the Village’” — publishes dog daycare, dog boarding, dog grooming and dog training on its own location page, and tells visitors to “Be sure to check out our dog training and dog daycare packages to save some money once your dog falls in love with us!” Training is described company-wide as “designed to foster a strong, mutually beneficial bond between you and your dog.”

The site

This was the company's first location and has been in operation since 1999, on the Cheshire Bridge / Piedmont Road corridor at the edge of Morningside. It has three large outdoor yards plus an indoor play area at the “Athletic Club,” so dogs of all sizes and breeds are welcome, along with HD webcams, luxury suites and a grooming salon.

Prices and hours

Published daycare rates are $29 for a single day, $260 for a 10-day package and $445 for a month of unlimited play, with lower rates for additional family dogs. Boarding runs $60 classic, $70 deluxe and $80 presidential per suite. Hours are 7:30am to 7:30pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturday and noon to 5pm Sunday, and new clients get a free first day.
