About Baskett of Paws Service Dog Trainer
Service, therapy and obedience training
Baskett of Paws is a service and therapy dog trainer in Sandy, founded by Cherris Baskett, who began training dogs in 2011. It offers hands-on guidance for obedience, service and therapy dog training and can help clients find the right dog through temperament testing before they buy, or assess a dog they already own for service work. Baskett of Paws specializes in standard poodles and works with all breeds.
Services
Qualified dogs can be trained for tasks including medical alert, diabetic alert, seizure alert, anxiety support, PTSD support, and stability and mobility support. Services also cover psychiatric assistance dogs, therapy and emotional support animals, and obedience training courses, which usually take about 3 months before service work begins. Training is one-on-one, in groups or over FaceTime for out-of-town clients, and dogs that complete all required training receive a certificate of completion. Clients from across the country have been matched with dogs.
What owners say
One client wrote that Cherris "works hard to find a good match for those w special needs."
