About Camp Mutt Dog Training & Boarding

Camp Mutt publishes itself as "world-class dog training and boarding services led by our team of expert, certified trainers" in Jacksonville, NC, and states it "was the first company to offer a dog training facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina", helping "over 400 families a year".

What they publish

Their own training menu has four branches plus classes. Obedience is described as correcting "unwanted behaviors like jumping, play biting, leash pulling, and more". Behavior modification is described as "helping dogs overcome anxiety, fear, and more by replacing frustration with effective training and positive results". Service dog and therapy dog training is described as equipping a dog "with everything they need to pass the required exams". K-9 Education is an owner-facing track running "From Dog Psychology to New Family Dynamics". Boarding is offered alongside, with group play.

How they describe the method

"While many dog trainers concentrate on forcing the dog to work for you, our trainers utilize a science-backed and psychology-based method of training. Our approach is to get the dog to want to work for you instead of forcing it to." They add that their own dogs are on site all day.

Getting started

The published first step is a free evaluation: "The best place to start with any training program is with an evaluation. This allows us to meet and talk with you about your concerns, goals, and expectations." Ask about prices when you call.
