About Camp Scotty

What they offer

Camp Scotty is a Pelham boarding, daycare and grooming facility that also offers dog training. Its About page describes full-service dog training from pre-puppy training to advanced behavioral classes.

How the classes work

The Training page sets out three levels taught in a building-block format. Level 1 covers sit, down, stand, stay, heeling on lead and come, with behavior problems addressed; Level 2 adds attention, figure 8, footwork, distraction work, long stays and the beginning of off-lead heeling; Level 3 adds a finish to the left and hand signals. The page says it offers the AKC Canine Good Citizen test and AKC Community Canine test in Level 3. Classes meet one evening a week, and each level requires the one before it.

Good to know

The page says it trains owners to be trainers, so plan on attending with your dog. Check the class calendar on the site for current start dates.
