About Canine Specialty Training

Canine Specialty Training LLC has no working website of its own; its old caninespecialty.org address no longer works. Owner Susan Bass describes the business in her profile on Alignable, under the company name and the Independence, MO location; its address is given as 19111 E Truman Rd.

What it trains

The profile puts the work at the specialized end rather than the pet-obedience end: "Canine Specialty Training, LLC trains dogs for individuals in elevated obedience training and tasks. We also specialize in dogs for persons having a disability."

Service dog work

The assistance-dog list is specific about the tasks and conditions covered: "Mobility, Balance/Brace, Hearing, Seizures, Allergen (Gluten), Diabetic Alert, Autism." Two delivery shapes are named – "We custom train and have a full team training program" – the second being the arrangement where handler and dog are trained together.

How long it has been running

The profile dates the company and its service-dog line separately: "Est.1986, Service dogs since 1993."

Breadth claimed

Answering a question on the same profile in 2017, Bass listed the training venues she works across by their trade acronyms – "MWD's, Police, SAR, NDD, PPD, TD, ESA, or SD's" – military working dogs through service dogs – and noted that training "can be specific to that venue of training". Anyone calling should confirm which of those lines is currently offered, and at what price.
