Cedar Ridge Siberians
Overview
About Cedar Ridge Siberians
Cedar Ridge Siberians is a training and boarding business on County Route 59 in Dexter, at the mouth of the Black River. Despite the name it is not primarily a breeder: its own site leads with positive training methods for dogs, and says it specializes in training for all breeds, whatever the size or special needs.
Training
The obedience side is described as teaching the basics of obedience, rally and agility. The class list on the site is puppy classes, AKC classes and a basic manners class, with a separate strand for owners wanting to start in rally and agility – which the site calls connecting pups and owners in beginning rally and agility rather than competition work. Ask which AKC program the AKC classes follow.
Method
The method statement is short and consistent: positive reinforcement, science-based approaches, and training the owner alongside the dog so the relationship is what carries the result. The stated goal is a successful and enjoyable experience for both dog and owner.
Also boards
The business boards as well, in eight fenced play yards, and limits numbers so each dog gets individual attention. Boarding requires current vaccinations, flea and tick prevention and kennel cough cover, plus a meet and greet before anything is scheduled.
