About ComPAWssionate Canines

What they offer

ComPAWssionate Canines is a home-based business in Lakewood offering boarding, training and daycare, and a group training class. It says it focuses on making dogs comfortable wherever they are and uses only positive reinforcement training.

How they train

The home page walks through teaching an auto-sit to an easily distracted dog, first inside, then in the back yard and front yard, using a marker word, praise and a cheek rub when treats do not work outdoors. It lists the benefits of positive reinforcement, including a stronger connection with the dog.

Good to know

During boarding, training or daycare stays, dogs play in a large fenced backyard under supervision, and owners receive photos and videos.
